From DreamFactory (or rather Dream-Publishing), the creators of Tobal No.1, Tobal No.2, Ehrgeiz, and Crimson Tears, comes our video of Kakuto Chojin: Back Alley Brutal, the Xbox game from them that looks great and sounds great (not the sound effects though, those are terrible), but doesn't play great. Once the "ZOMG!! THE INSANE GRAPHICS" or the "WOW Factor" wears off, this is a rather shallow fighting game that feels as though it has less depth than even the original Tobal, and that's probably because it does have less depth.

The game features a mindless juggling system and a limited repertoire of moves at each characters' disposal including limited throwing techniques. There are few unlockables and the cool features that made prior DF titles great or interesting like non-melee specials and (more notably) questing are long gone. There is just enough depth to make it qualify as a fighting game, but if you're looking for a deep fighter, you won't find it here. This game isn't unplayable and has, however, actually accomplished several things upon its release. It has:

1) Made slow-mo finishes that look really cool
2) Showed some of the graphical prowess of the Xbox
3) Gotten pulled off of shelves
4) Caused controversy for offensive religious content (check wikipedia for details)
