Kazakhstan increases uranium production
Ranking first in the world in uranium production, Kazakhstan announced its production plan as 22.3 thousand tons this year. This amount means that the production increased by half a ton compared to last year.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, the country's energy sector was evaluated.
Kazakhstan, which has ranked first in the world in natural uranium production since 2009, plans to produce 22.3 thousand tons of uranium in 2022.
It is also envisaged to establish a vertical nuclear fuel cycle complex for the production of high value-added uranium products.
For this purpose, the production of uranium dioxide powders with a capacity of 317 tons at the Ülba Metallurgy Factory in the country and the production of fuel extraction devices with a capacity of 200 tons for the nuclear power plants in China began.
Kazakhstan produced 21.8 thousand tons of uranium last year.
