Kaze and the Wild Masks Gameplay (Best Indie Platformer in Years?)
28Clearly inspired by such iconic games as Donkey Kong Country and Rayman, Kaze and the Wild Masks is an outstanding indie platformer with top-notch pixel art, a catchy soundtrack, excellent level design, and a really neat "mask" mechanic that has you transforming into different creatures with unique gameplay styles/abilities. It's incredibly challenging later on, too, but rarely in a way that feels cheap or unfair.

I highly recommend giving Kaze a shot if you enjoy the platformers of old. It's hands down one of the best "pure" 2D platformers I've played since Shovel Knight and absolutely deserves more praise and exposure than it's gotten thus far.
Kaze and the Wild Masks is now available on pretty much every major platform: PC, Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and yes, even Stadia. The gameplay shown here is from the PC version.
