Here is an interesting case study specially focused on new Mishima players who can't electric or have fancy movement. The character I picked is Kazuya which is famous for being "WEAK" and "No pokes" and the criteria of plays is to NOT USE ELECTRCIS and WAVEDASHES. Keep the combos (If I can get a launch) and punish to extreme basic. DO NOT GO FOR LAUNCHERS.

Since my opponent is also a Mishima, here are mental notes:

1: Wavedash pressure is not real if I can control my nerves. Just stay at one backdash away. You will be able to see through it and either interrupt or walk comfortably.

2: Up close, look for electrics. Either duck and punish or simply stop with a jab.

3: Far away, it's always something stupid like ff2. Be it DVJ, Kaz or Hei. They are all same.1

4: Shutdown their SSL walks with b4.

5: 99% of them always play in patterns. Identify and answer.

That's about it.

I always recommend to learn basics/fundamentals first instead of going crazy with electrics and wavedashes.
