kdenlive is Trash: True Nature of GPL explained - Honest Review - Fake Premiere Pro alternative
In this video, I criticize Kdenlive and other GPL software based on my experience. I believe that GPL software often creates a "self-delusion parasite" situation, where developers and users convince themselves that open-source is the best model, but it ends up leading to ignored problems and poor development. Kdenlive, in particular, is plagued with instability, poor performance, and a lack of support for many video formats, making it far less reliable than professional software like Premiere Pro. While the user interface is decent, the software crashes often, runs slowly, and struggles with certain media formats. I don’t recommend Kdenlive and suggest trying DaVinci Resolve instead, as it’s a much better free alternative, though its free status may not last.
PS. This is the Lunar year of the wooden python. Enjoy getting loved from behind by it from the open source communities this year and beyond.
PSS. In this video I am casually trimming few seconds from 30-minuteish footages using both Kdenlive and Premiere Pro. Kdenlive fails big time for a simple task like that. It doesn’t have zoom in functionality for the source monitor.
PSSS. Nothing is free. Blackmagic has a lot of products for sale, and their free offering is merely a way of self promoting, so DaVinci Resolve is really a tiny little freebie to them, but it's still 10-50 times superior to the Open Source Kdenlive. Most open source software is garbage. Kdenlive is no exception. Despite the fact a free and capable version is available for DaVinci, if you are serious about video editing, then the paid version is absolutely recommended. It is worth every cent of its price tag. It has features so advanced that you will never be able to find them in Kdenlive anytime in the future. Donating money to these parasites is a very bad use of your hard earned money. The money is better spent on proprietary software when Blackmagic works so hard to improve their products, not just software, but hardware as well. This video is clearly not paid by Blackmagic. It’s just my honest and uncensored opinions. I would say Blackmagic generally have a good intention. I literally have downloaded 50+ GB worth of free educational content from their site. This is not something even paid software would provide you, not to say open source parasites. These people are really passionate on video.
PSSSS. I am an animal lover. I spent hours watching pigs. I can see from these eyes that they are very kind and gentle animals. Despite their harsh living conditions, they are still eager to live, and don’t want to turn into food on your plate. Despite their bloated body shape, they still want to breathe every breath, until resigned to life’s last moment. Pigs in Asian countries live a very brutal last moment, with a white blade in and red blade out.
