Trophy Tip: By far the hardest trophy in the PS5 version of the game in terms of skill. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY HOW COMMON THIS TROPHY IS!! This is because MyCareer is by far the most popular game mode, and a lot of 2K players (not trophy hunters) will get lucky and get this trophy without even trying for it. Other trophies in the game which are rarer are only rarer because they are a grind. Before going for this trophy I read a few so called "guides" which told me to make this particular build - a power forward Defensive Anchor which (allegedly) could do everything. It has a slightly above average wingspan and a steal rating in the high-80s. These guides will have you believe that with these stats, this trophy will be a piece of cake with this build. They are fake news, and are sadly typical of trophy guide authors who just want to flex to overcompensate and troll their innocent victims in the trophy hunting community. They say to set the game to 12 minute quarters even though they know you are at greater risk of failing this trophy from fouling out than running out of time.๐คฆ๐ผ Instead, in hindsight I recommend making a build as tall as possible while still allowing for a 99 steal rating and the Pickpocket badge at a high level (I believe the tallest such build possible is 6'5" or 6'6") and for the ๐"Fly Swatter" trophy, unlike for this trophy there are still ways to cheese it with a short player, and failing that you can easily make another build with maximum height and get the required blocks that way as a 60 Overall (there's a reason every scrub in MyTeam still uses amethyst Tacko Fall even though every other dude in their team is a Dark Matter...) Also not to be overlooked is just how different on-ball defense plays in the PS5 version ("next gen") to the PS4 version ("current gen"). The game runs on a completely different game engine on the PS5. Essentially the PS5 version uses "realistic" collision detection between the basketball and on-ball defensive player, whereas on the PS4 version whether the offensive player loses the ball handle or not was a factor of the relative positions of the ballhandler and the defender and often a good defensive player only needed to guard up close to the ballhandler and the ballhandler would lose the ball without any steal being attempted. Not so in the next gen version!๐๐ป When they first made this change back in 2K21 for the PS5 version the 2K community on the PS5 reacted with outrage and disbelief and to this day many PS5 players still play only the PS4 versions of NBA 2K games, as the gameplay is better and 2K went and broke what didn't need fixing.
