00:00 I know Kuminga is obviously out tonight. Do you feel like he's edging closer to a return?
00:09 STEVE KERR, PREGAME BROOKLYN: I hope so. Yeah, I mean, he's been working every day and getting in scrimmages. I know he scrimmaged yesterday and so it seems like he's getting closer, but nothing imminent.
00:24 What are — when you're scrimmaging and doing full contact and everything like he is, what are like the next steps beyond that, if there are any?
00:33 Just feeling healthy and feeling like he can compete in an NBA game. So the scrimmaging is good, but he has to feel right. He has to feel explosive and he has to feel healthy and we can't rush that process.
00:52 Coach, I know Jonathan isn't playing tonight, do you think Gary will be able to take the floor tonight?
00:58 Do I think Gary will —
00:59 Be able to play?
01:01 Yeah, we're expecting Gary to play. He got fitted for a mask, so I think he was able to get it today and we have him listed as probable. I haven't talked to him yet, but I assume he'll play.
01:16 Aside from the on-court fit with Jimmy and the split-action stuff, they're really trying to find that chemistry with the three guys. How does Jimmy kind of fit in with this group off the floor on team buses, film sessions, stuff like that?
01:33 He's fitting right in. I mean, the guys are enjoying him and vice-versa. He's a really interesting guy, been around the block, knows what it takes to win and some of that is on-court, some of that is off-court. So he's doing an amazing job of connecting with our guys and trying to get to know them and he stays after practice with our young guys and plays one-on-one, works with them, advises them. And so there's, obviously, both a strategic component to that, but also a personal one. And he's doing a really good job of connecting with the group.
02:12 Any young guy, in particular, that he's kind of clicking with?
02:16 Well, BP, for sure. I mean, they have a really strong connection, but he's literally taken a different guy after practice almost every day and, I mean, he did the same thing with Gui Santos. He did it with Buddy, even some of the vets, Quentin Post. So, I mean, he's locked in and really trying to get on the same page with the group
02:43 Steve, is there any sort of extra boost or added value that you feel like your team, in particular, gets from guys that really do the dirty work, just because of the threat that Steph presents as a shooter and just when loose balls present themselves and balls that you guys are able to get to, those moments where the defense can't stay attached to him, that you feel like you guys really expected from him over the years?
03:06 Yeah, yeah, there's always been guys who have stood out in that regard and we've always tried to have those guys on our roster. I think Santos right now is a perfect example. He's generating so many extra possessions, offensive rebounds, loose balls, getting deflections, running the floor really hard. There was a play in Charlotte the other night that was, to me, the key play of the game where we threw it ahead to Gui and he immediately looked for Steph and found him, and not everybody knows how to do that. So, the more guys you have on the court who can connect the game and understand what's happening, the better…
