#kevinporterjr #clippers #klaythompson #warriors #nba\nHouston Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. didn’t break his girlfriend’s neck during an alleged fight at their hotel, Manhattan prosecutors admitted in court Monday — as they said they’d drop one of the assault charges against him.\n\nManhattan Assistant District Attorney Mirah Curzer said the office was tossing the charge of second-degree assault against Porter, 23, because of “insufficient evidence,” after it was revealed that the NBA player didn’t actually break girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick’s neck.\n\n“What initially appeared to be a fractured vertebrae was not in fact an injury caused by the defendant,” Curzer told Judge Jay Weiner during Porter’s hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court.\n\nProsecutors initially said the savage Midtown hotel beatdown on Sept. 11 left Gondrezick — a former WNBA player — with a fractured vertebra.\n\nThe Warriors have kept a big three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green together for a decade. But for Thompson, as the 2023-24 NBA season approaches, the current state of his contract has led to a “very real possibility” that he could enter the next offseason as a free agent, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.\n\nWhile speaking on ESPN’s NBA Countdown, Wojnarowski offered insight into the current state of Thompson’s contract negotiations with Golden State and just how far apart the two sides are.
