How much talent and potential has been wasted by our inability to recognize and value those who think differently? Have we learned anything from our past mistakes, or are we still squandering opportunities for innovation and progress because they don’t come in a familiar package? Inclusion of neurodivergent individuals is not a social exercise; it is a business imperative. The neurodivergent community can learn from the examples of other traditionally marginalized or stigmatized groups (LGBTQ+, for example) which have made significant progress. This keynote will examine the labels, assumptions, and limiting beliefs that continue to “other” us, and how we can move toward an inclusive future.
