Kick Abobo through a cliff in Double Dragon (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears!
564Here's a cute little exploit that Double Dragon speedrunners will abuse to quickly defeat the first of two Abobo enemies inside the caverns of Mission 3.
First, get to the part where you gotta fight two green Abobi. It's the part where Abobo busts a hole through the solid rock wall like the Kool-Aid Man. Then after you defeat him another one will appear. You know the place.
Jump down the staircase section inside the glowing caverns and land just to the right of the area where Abobo tears through the wall. The goal here is to position Bimmy in just the right spot so that Abobo will attack while facing to the right, but he will miss because he's too close to you.
Almost immediately after he whiffs a punch or a kick, start walking to the left. The trick is to walk to the left at the SAME TIME that he starts backing up to the left. If you time it right, you can back him up all the way to the wall.
When Abobo's back is to the wall, jump kick. If the attack connects, Abobo will fall through the wall and off the screen. Congratulations! Now you gotta fight the second one, still!
Note that it's possible to skip straight to the part where you back Abobo up to the wall if your timing and spacing are perfect. But it's much more reliable to set this trick up after Abobo tries to punch you when you're too close to hit. The rest of the trick is like a 0-to-KO whiff punish.
