The Most Useless Code in Super Mario Kart (SNES) - Retrogaming Easter Eggs #mariokart
671In Super Mario Kart for the SNES, there's a code that allows you to play a 1 Player game with the 2nd controller, and the map and gameplay screens will be swapped so that your driver will be pictured on the bottom split screen rather than the top.
And it's just as useless as it sounds!
On the title screen, hold L and R on controller 2, then choose any 1 Player mode (while still using controller 2). Then choose your racer and pick your course. When gameplay starts, the action will take place on the BOTTOM split screen, rather than the top half.
Other than changing the view slightly, this code doesn't affect gameplay whatsoever! But I've been playing Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo since like 1993 and I had never heard of this random cheat code.
