Don't let the cartoon graphics fool you, this is a fantastic kickboxing simulation that is as rich in strategy as you can get for the PSX. I think this game could have done better with more stretched out, realistic character models. I think not only would that fit great with the fantastic fighting mechanics, but would actually make the hit detection much smoother. If you notice, the animation of some KOs and punches shows the attacks going THROUGH people, or barely touching them at all. It's a minor complaint, especially taking into account the system this is on. It's like expecting the original DOOM to handle like Halo.

Why listen to me over better professional fighters like IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy, Destructoid or Gametrailers? Well, I don't just review games from the eyes of a technical, professional Kurt Sloane. I also review games from the perspective of an actual Frank Dux. Ok, USA?

Journalistic edit: I mentioned in passing that you use the triangle button in this game, that is actually not true. You only use the other 3 main action buttons, I am really not sure what triangle does, if it does anything at all.
