Kid Chameleon - Shishkaboss (2:38) New Speedrun Strat
This was achieved in real-time on an emulator. This is obviously an extremely difficult new strat I discovered for Shishkaboss that allows the fight to be completed about nine seconds faster than the current method. Best of all, still no diamond powers are required to do this.
The reason why it is so difficult to actually save time here in a full-game run is because in the previous level, Stormwalk Mountain, you would actually need to complete that level with a Red Stealth helmet. Doing so would waste about 5 seconds (6 if you wish to collect the two nearby diamonds as well). So that being said, in order to have a time save here, one would need to complete it in 2:35-2:36, which is still a very difficult task. 2:38 seems to be the idealized time, but so much can go wrong, easily causing a time loss dipping below 2:35-2:36:
0:04 You need to inflict as much damage here as you can with Red Stealth. Six on the top head should be dealt every time. I got nine on the second head, which is actually not that good, and five on the third head which is ok.
0:16 The jump onto the rubber blocks is the most important task here. It is a very narrow frame window to let go of the jump button in midair in a way such that you land on the rubber blocks with as minimal bounce as possible. Every time you land on the ground, the 18-frame delay between Maniaxe's axe throws is cancelled, so bouncing how I do in the video can allow the player to throw a gigantic barrage of axes if they button-mash as fast as possible.
0:19 If you defeated the bottom head on the rubber blocks, you have probably the best-case scenario. As far as the middle head, you need to start getting extra height on the rubber blocks so you can jump down to another rubber block that launches you up to the top head. For me, the second head is usually defeated after the right side of his head passes the background palm tree, so that's about the time I drop.
0:24 The top head is one of the most difficult because wedging yourself in a position like this means that any slight horizontal movement can send you flying off the head in that direction, so you want to land on that top head without any horizontal velocity at all. I did not land on it with zero horizontal velocity here, but for some reason I was able to control it and did not get launched off as I usually do.
