Kid Chameleon - Bagel Brothers (2:28) New Speedrun Strat
This was achieved in real time on an emulator. I, along with Kitchengun (youtube username: skid chameleon), discovered this method through the blending of a couple new strats. Of all the new techniques for each boss, this one is probably the easiest to pull off, and if done correctly, will save about 15 seconds! Though Samurai Haze must be used to successfully pull it off, the time save is far worth using it.
0:10 You need to use Samurai Haze right before the heads appear, so that the optimal setup occurs. This will give the player enough time to deal all 30 hits to the middle head before the power wears off.
0:19 Ascend quickly and bounce between the head and the ceiling to deal all 30 hits to the top head in seconds. This is the primary reason why Samurai Haze was used earlier. Because it causes the heads to move slower, it limits the height that the top head will gain when he ascends upon appearing. Normally, he will ascend too high into the ceiling and you cannot bounce on him; but if Samurai Haze was used properly, the top head should align two blocks below the ceiling, perfect for Red Stealth to deal quick bouncing damage.
0:24 Descend quickly to the bottom head and deal all 30 hits to him. Watch your hit points here because if you lose Red Stealth, you're going to lose a lot of time. You can also go for the two diamonds at the bottom in a single segment run because they are rather conveniently placed.
Kitchengun is credited with discovering the technique that using Samurai Haze at the right time will put the top head in an ideal position for Red Stealth to bounce on. All I credit myself for is taking this strategy and developing a path around it that would save as much time as possible. So special thanks to Kitchengun because without his discovery, this time would not have been possible.
