After sitting out the entire fight because she was busy dealing with a spider, Ciel finally turns back up just to steal Shiki's kill of Roa. To be fair to Shiki, the guy should have already been dead on account of the whole killing them and the result being death thing, but apparently the instant death part of that doesn't apply to Roa for dramatic effect.
