To be up front, the following are probably NOT the best versions on YT overall, but do represent sort-of-unique recordings that could be historically worth preserving: today I have restored from my tape archives two versions of the infamous Killzone trailer from the legendary E3 2005 Sony PlayStation conference (in my mind the craziest Sony E3 conference ever... alongside E3 2015!), (1) The first one is a PAL cam recording from the little-known SCEE conference the day after the main SCEA conference, which basically no one filmed (or at least no one still has the recording) except me. Since it was shot in PAL, it offers a resolution that may be slightly improved versus anyone who shot offscreen of this trailer with NTSC equipment - it's still far from perfect but I think it has a nice sort of filmic look; if I recall the SCEE screen was also slightly smaller (but brighter) than the building-sized screen at the SCEA conference the day before; direct feed audio is used, except for the end of the sequence when the cam audio takes over so you can hear the applause and remarks from Phil Harrison. (2) The second version is direct feed that I recorded directly on-site at the SCEA conference via BNC and XLR connections into (obviously) NTSC equipment (incidentally, no other online games media was doing this at the time except IGN and GameSpot; it was practically unheard outside of general broadcast media... I remember even the Official PlayStation Magazine (UK) didn't know about it and asked how I got direct feed... by putting 10X the research/effort into our video strategy than most other games media at the time, that's how... I'm not bitter!!! And yeah I know how redundant and antiquated this sounds in today's age of everything being livestreamed in 4K to literally anyone!). Anyhow, I have fond memories of this "struggle of the era" as you can tell, and since this trailer still attracts debate to this day, I thought I might as well share these versions. More to follow.
