This is a play-through using RB2 Terry, RB2 Andy and '94 Joe in the PS1 version of King Of Fighters '98. Read on below for more information...
Real Bout 2 Terry, Real Bout 2 Andy and KOF'94 Joe are alternative versions of their regular counterparts (Fatal Fury Team). They are all hidden playable characters.
===== Additional Information =====
---- As a team, they have the same ending image (at the end of the credits) as the regular Fatal Fury Team.
---- They cannot be fought against as CPU characters.
---- In the game's data, they are alternative versions of their regular counterparts, which means that they use the same slot value as regular Fatal Fury Team.
---- Obviously, they have different moves to their regular counterparts.
===== About the Fatal Fury Team =====
They are of course the original three playable characters from Fatal Fury 1. As three of the most well-known SNK characters, they as a whole have been one of the staple teams of the KOF series.
===== About PS1 KOF'98 =====
A fair port of the arcade game. As the KOF series evolved, there are quite a lot of animation frame cuts that are quite noticeable for most of the characters... i.e. when Kyo walks backwards, he uses the forward-walking animation for it. This is due to lack of VRAM in the PS1 hardware (remember how Capcom did this in the SNES/Genesis versions of the Street Fighter 2 games).
Nevertheless, it's very playable much like the arcade version. The loading screens before each match feature the character's versus screen portraits, which is quite interesting to look at because usually you only get to see these portraits for a short amount of time. The game takes advantage of the PS1 hardware and uses the AST music tracks.
Loading times are a pain and cannot be avoided on the PS1 hardware obviously.
