Celebration of the Kaiju monster movies of the 50s/60s (and some later) that were literally big in Japan, and achieved a bit of a following around the world as well. You know-- Godzilla, Gamera, Rodan, etc. In this game you can select 1 or 2 players to fight the computer-generated characters (or each other) with an array of projectiles, basic attacks, or grappling/wrestling moves. Your goal is to "pin" the enemy down for a 3-count (you jump on their prone body and stand on them). As you fight each other, the city (one of 6 different cities in Japan) suffers greatly as your giant feet crush buildings, trains, bridges, etc., and this will grant you extra points at the end of a victorious match! Note that when you grapple you can do a couple of special moves that will force a "P" icon out of the opponent-- this, when collected, fills up a power meter than, when totally full, upgrades your strength one level! (You can upgrade no more than twice.) After defeating the other 5 opponents you must face your doppelganger once.. then ALL OF THEM ALL OVER AGAIN! Ugh.. but then it's over and you see an amusing ending sequence with a newscaster getting killed from a monster attack. NOTE: even when you or the opponent have no energy left on their meter, it is still very possible to break out of a pin (wail on the A button). Don't give up! The best way to deplete the enemy's energy is through a move made when grappling (in Geon's case, a bite or choke via pressing Up and A or Down and A); not only does it hurt them but you can get the P-icon-- just make sure to collect it in 7 seconds or so, but don't bother with it if you are able to pin the monster down for the count. And don't lose track of the time; you will score a DRAW if you don't beat the enemy before it's up!
