Adaptation of the blockbuster movie of the same name. This is a rail shooter in which you, for the most part, must mow down scores of Terminators (both skeletal and Arnold Shwartzenegger-like), as well as shoot at the new Terminator that can assume liquid form. At least half the game takes place in the future, where you protect an adult John Connor and his comrades from Terminator assault. At any time boxes/crates/briefcases appear, SHOOT THEM to get weapon upgrades/bullets restocked/energy restored. Shoot the Terminators with your auto rifle and missiles-- you can get more and/or upgrades for them. Watch out for the Terminators that get close to you; they do FAR more damage! Here and there, missiles fired by various vehicles will cause MASSIVE damage when they hit, so shoot them in mid-air quickly. Cool bells and whistles involved in this popular game are voices by Arnold Schwarzenegger and cinematic clips shown between levels (albeit in small, grainy windows). Levels often conclude with boss fights. Early on you must mow down a group of Terminators as you try not to shoot John Connor's comrades (shooting civilians results in a 50,000 point penalty each at the end of a level), then later down an enemy airship, then dispatch the golden Terminators (they are extra tough). Then you go through a human shelter taking out Arnold clones, then later you protect adult John Connor on a truck (let him die and you start the level over!), then later you (as Arnold Terminator) go back in time to protect John Connor (as a kid) from the T-1000, and to break into Cyberdyne and steal a Terminator arm and CPU that prevents the creation of Skynet and eventual Judgement Day. Later still you must shoot up an upended Nitro Glycerine tanker to freeze the T-1000, and soon you'll be at the last level-- a steel mill-- to knock the T-1000 into the molten steel with your missiles and end the game. I was never any good at the rail shooters, but they sure were popular-- this was one of the more popular ones.
