Kingdom Hearts 3 - Level 1 Proud Mode: Ansem/Xemnas/Young Xehanort - Fight 1 (No Damage/No Magic)
No Damage
Level 1
Proud Mode
No Armor/Accessories
Level 1 Starlight (functionally identical to a level 1 Kingdom Key as far as these restrictions are concerned I think?)
No Cuisine
No Magic
No Situation Commands
No Shotlocks (other than Airstep)
No Stat Boosting items (like Power Ups, AP Ups, etc)
This fight is honestly hell. Doing this without magic basically means turtling while your party members do the fight for you. I realized that even with a bunch of atk boosting accessories and using a maxed out Keyblade, it's not really enough to break the damage floor on a lot of late game fights, so I decided to scrap everything and restrict my AP instead. I got lucky a few times during this attempt which is pretty disappointing for me, but I'm ready to be done with this phase of the fight so it'll have to do, lol. Was originally going to combine all 3 parts of the fight into 1 video, but since this 1st fight already took so long, I figure it's better to split them. Now to beat the other 2. The worst of it is over, I think (I hope).
About the fight itself, it's not really AS bad as I thought it was going to be based on my initial playthroughs. There's a solid structure to the fight that makes it much easy enough to figure out what main attacks are coming next and which Xehanort will primarily focus on Sora. That said, it can still be insanely frustrating when they break aggro from either Riku or Mickey and target Sora instead (Xemnas's teleport into melee combos are particularly brutal), but it's not always unreasonable to keep an eye on the others while attacking whatever target is open. Sniping with firaga or thundaga is definitely ideal and would allow you to have a solid field of vision most of the time. You also gotta know when Riku and Mickey get KOd since that's when they're all most likely to start focusing their attacks on Sora together. If fighting on the ground, there's also always the risk of getting clipped by a stray move from 1 of the other norts as well. There's also some nasty stuff like how when the screen darkens or even begins to clear up, any of Ansem's active projectile-delay shots will fire off instantly. It's probably programmed that way so they don't make the transition into the triple-nort combination attacks take any longer. Would be nice if the orbs just disappeared instead tho... Anyway, I'm just glad to have gotten this part over with.
