Kingdom Hearts 3 Re Mind - Data Saix (LV1 Critical) *No Damage*
Saix is an interesting one. For first timers this seems to be considered one of the hardest data fights and I can see why. He just attacks non-stop, covering the entire arena in flames all the while protected by super armor. The truth is though that this fight is really not that hard, you just kind of have to realize it's not. The big thing is to not let his attack hitboxes scare you. Even though his attacks have huge range and cover the area in flames and shockwaves, almost nothing lingers passed the initial hit so a single dodge roll can avoid basically everything he has. Even if the attack sticks around for a second afterward, it most likely doesn't have a lingering hitbox. What makes it easier is that you just have to know to always dodge towards him and not away so spend less time in any hitbox that does linger.
Similar to Young Xehanort, Saix has a very set in stone attack pattern and he only has like 3 attacks per phase he cycles through. It's incredibly easy to follow his AI and you should never be caught off guard by his pattern unless you are not paying attention. At level 1, he always does the slow combo, the double slam into the combo and then the claymore throw. if you land every opening, he should automatically go to level 2 before doing any more attacks.
In level 2 he will still with his long combo that starts with a slam, some attacks and ends with another slam. You can actually block the first attack and counter if you know the attack is coming. If you don't block the first hit, the second opening is a bit tricky. After doing his slide, he will do two slow slams. You must dodge towards him and to the side for the first slam because the waves do linger quite a bit and then you can block the second for a Risk Dodge counter. Then he does the multi-claymore throw. If you time your Airstep right as he throws you shouldn't get hit by the claymores. Its not 100% but its consistent enough. Finally he will do a series of rushing attacks that end with a slam. If you attack early enough you can get an opening after the slam but its fairly strict.
Now as you might have noticed while watching, Saix never actually does his DM. As I was doing this fight, I was trying to cut down to as few of DMs as possible since it's so long and takes up so much time. However as I played, I figured it might be possible to just skip altogether and I was right. For the first half of the fight, I had to sandbag every so slightly so that he would be just above his DM HP gate when going Lv2 for the second time. After that I had deal as much damage as possible between openings and also freezing his Berserk charge at just the right moment. If I froze him too early, he would lose Berserk early and not give me enough time to kill him before he goes Lv2 again and DMs. He only does the DM at specific cycles so I timed the Blizzaga in just the perfect way so Ultimate Form would knock him out of Berserk right before the DM leaving his HP low enough that I can kill him while still Lv1.
