Ep. 41: Sephiroth
Difficulty: Critical

You know we’re far from done right? Well there’s still more and I sum up who’s next in just one word… Sephiroth.

Sephiroth is an antagonist from Final Fantasy VII and an optional boss. He is a very tough opponent with attacks that can drain your HP like mad. The fight begins with him saying “That’s enough”. You need to use the Block reaction command immediately or else you’ll get hit a lot. Once you block it, give it everything you have against him. After a finishing attack or two, he’ll either go back or teleport to do a slash that sends you up. Blocking it helps but if you get hit, pull an air counter to retaliate or you’ll be losing HP fast.

As his HP goes down, his strategy changes. He moves faster but still is the same. One you should take note is Sin Heartless Angel. If he successfully does the spell, your HP goes down to 1 and all your MP is gone. Pack an Elixir to heal up or else you’re done for. But if you have a high-level High Jump, Aerial Dodge and Glide, you can reach him before he does it. He also has the nasty flame towers that spawn out of the ground. Move far away from them.

Once he’s down to 4 bars, that’s when he isn’t playing around. He’ll move like mad attacking and unleashing dark orbs at you. He’ll use Sin Heartless Angel more so you know what to do. And he has another attack: Meteor. He’ll send out loads of meteors at you and you need to move out of the way. Gliding helps avoiding it completely so if you have a high level, you’re good.

You need to be a really high level if you want any chance against him. Me? I got lucky taking his butt out. Really lucky. Beating Sephiroth not only increases your Drive Level by 1 but you also get the One Winged Angel trophy.

But its not over. You need to find Cloud, tell him about Sephiroth and then return to the Great Maw for an intense cutscene. After the cutscene, Tifa hands you the Fenrir, a keyblade which has a strength of 7 but causes Negative Combo on both ground and air.
