Kingdom Hearts II FM [PS3] Commentary #145, Synthesis Material Farming: Cavern of Remembrance
This is video #145 in my playthrough of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, part of the Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX. This is Critical Mode. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/HvWbjImVvQU
Previously, Sora and company cleared the first three Paradox Cups that Hades offers: Pain and Panic, Cerberus, and Titan. The grueling Hades Paradox Cup is now available, but before suffering through that, the party will take care of other things. First, they will get to work gathering some of the ingredients they will need to finish each synthesis recipe they have not completed up to this point.
When they beam up to the world map, a new episode is added to denote the availability of the Hades Paradox Cup (time 0:37).
First, with Mosh the Moogle at the Underworld Entrance, the party checks the current status of their synthesis efforts (time 1:07). Lost Illusions and some additional Remembrance materials will be required for the Centurion Wand and the upgrade of the Shock Charm. The upgrade of the Serenity Crystal recipe produces a Manifest Illusion, which is needed in the Draw Ring recipe. Serenity Gems will be required for a few upgrades. The party goes ahead and synthesizes some Mythril Shards, which they use to create a couple of upgraded items. They create a Thundagun Trinket, which is an upgrade to the Thundaga Trinket, and a Chaos Anklet, which is an upgrade to the Midnight Anklet. The party also creates an Orichalcum Ring, an upgrade to the Mythril Ring.
For the Remembrance materials and Serenity Gems, the party lands at the Postern on Hollow Bastion again (time 5:37). They pass through the Cavern of Remembrance from the top down by starting in the Garden of Assemblage, accessed from the Restoration Site (time 6:08). The Transport to Remembrance is a great place to hit up some Nobodies. The Engine Chamber and the Depths are good zones for the Heartless that drop Remembrance materials.
Before long, Goofy reaches Level 72 and gains a Max AP increase (time 9:12).
A few minutes later, Donald reaches Level 72 and gains a Magic increase (time 13:57).
A bit later, Sora reaches Level 72 and gains a Magic increase (time 17:35). Soon thereafter, the party scores a rare but unneeded Shaman's Relic+.
After a bit of collection, they drop off their synthesis materials to Mog the Moogle in the Marketplace (time 22:15). They create a Manifest Illusion by adding a Serenity Gem to the Serenity Crystal recipe. Then, thanks to the Manifest Illusion, they create a Lucky Ring by adding a Serenity Crystal to the Draw Ring recipe. The Lucky Ring gives its wearer a stackable Lucky Lucky, so it will be good for item farming. Further, the party makes a couple more Ribbons. Now, the Centurion weapon, its upgrade, and the upgrade of the Shock Charm are the only items left to make, but they require Lost Illusions that can only be acquired by fighting Organization member data battles in the Garden of Assemblage. An icky job, as Axel might say. Before going too far, the party synthesizes some Elixirs for themselves. These could be life-saving while hunting data Organization members. Furthermore, they cook up a couple of Power Boosts for Sora.
Next, the party will carry out data battles against three Organization members to get Lost Illusions: Lexaeus, Marluxia, and Zexion.
Thank you for watching!
