Developed and published by FromSoftware in Japan, published by ASCII Entertainment in North America, and released in 1996, "King's Field III" ("King's Field II" in N.A.) is the third game in the King's Field series.

We play as Prince Austin Lyle Forester, the son of King John Alfred Forester ( the protagonist of King's Field 1) who, after re-acquiring the Moonlight Sword with the help of Alexander/Aleph from the island of Melenat, has been driven mad and evil over the following 5 years.
Now come of age, it's time for Lyle to break the seal placed over the castle by Alexander and confront his father, bringing peace back to the land of Verdite.
