I think I was in eighth grade when I first discovered this game. Accustomed to saving up allowance or holiday/birthday money for buying games, the concept of owning and playing one for free at infinitum was mindblowing! And considering it was a real game, not some shovelware? Simply amazing to a younger me. Well, the game was awesome then, and it's awesome now. The use of VGA graphics in this remake really makes Daventry shine in a way the former versions of this game hadn't. I don't think SCI graphics are too bad; they certainly have a nostalgic value. Even so, they don't compare to the imagery that the game devs can create with VGA. And EGA graphics? No, thank you.

But really, it's the soundtrack that sells the whole experience. Initially written by Ken Allen, and rerecorded by Tom Lewandowski for a more modern sound, this soundtrack perfectly encompasses the fantasy element present in the land of Daventry. It also doesn't just sound like a lot of beeps and boops, so that's appreciated.
