Mustard Mountain has a ton of one-way doors, so you're pretty much forced to pick a path and stick with it at every crossroads. The area map here's pretty tricky to find, seeing as there's no indication that one room has two entrances into Area-4. Plus, I can't find a good way to hit that switch nearby without U.F.O. or Smash, so otherwise, you pretty much have to be insanely quick with Beam or Sword to get through.
