Kirby and the Forgotten Land Base Sword ONLY Full Playthrough (No Commentary)
9Today I challenge myself with Sword! These are always fun, as these runs help me get a grasp on whichever copy ability I'm doing a challenge for, to the point of understanding the best movement and damage options for the copy ability I'm using.
While Sword's upgrades are incredibly strong, and some of the strongest copy abilities in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, that's not the case for base Sword. It's completely understandable, as the developers intended for players to upgrade to other copy abilities as they progress through the game, so first stage copy abilities are generally balanced to be only used for the early areas of the game.
That's what I really like about this game, and why I think Forgotten Land is really well designed. The difficulty you experience depends on not only picking between Wild Mode and Spring Breeze, but it also depends on which buffs you pick up in Waddle Dee Town, and which abilities you choose to use as a player.
Rules:
-Wild Mode
-No using other copy abilities.
I reset by exiting and entering when it probably wasn't necessary in a level, when I could have just abandoned the copy ability I didn't intend to take. Just wanted to be safe so I wouldn't get angry comments about that, lol
-Inhaling/exhaling objects as projectiles is fine, but I don't intentionally plan to do so.
-All Mouthful Modes are allowed and fair game, since they're required for progression, a unique feature to Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and fun.
-All buff (second health bar, attack, speed) and healing items at any point in the run are fair game. I'll use them sparingly, since buffing up takes a lot of time, requires a Waddle Dee Town visit, and I'm ultimately trying to go as fast as possible to get a good, competitive time in case I do other runs with other copy abilities to compare them fairly. Buffing up probably loses time, but it's a more fun way to play the game, and guarantees consistency due to being allowed to make more mistakes.
-I am allowed to upgrade my copy ability in the postgame for stats.
-Because the postgame cannot be completed without other copy abilities, I will load my main file to attempt Ultimate Cup Z with Sword.

Ultimate Cup Z was so horribly difficult with sword due to being a gauntlet that I definitely need to build up some patience and have some time away from the game, or at least base sword, before I even think of attempting it again. If I had sword+1 or sword+2, I feel like I would have been fine, but that was rough.
