The Kishock Harpoon Gun is a sniper rifle in Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer.
Kishock Harpoon Gun is a harpoon-like spike that causes massive internal bleeding and its miniaturized disruptors are also good for destroying synthetics. However, it can be found only in the Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Pack and will be randomly rewarded through purchases of item packs. As some of the other sniper rifles this one can be charged too but it won’t cause more than 175% damage even on the full charge. When fully charged, the projectile filled with kinetic energy will simply knock light enemies which will make them look like puppies. When being shot without any charges, Kishock Harpoon Gun deals only 67% of its stated damage but the rest 33% will be dealt over the next 5 seconds representing the bleed damage. Unfortunately, scoring a headshot won’t increase the bleed damage. The rifle ignores both armor damage reduction and defense bleedthrough penalties and is the only one to take out shielded enemy like a Marauder or Centurion with a single headshot even on Gold difficulty, however it cannot penetrate covers like Javelin. The Kishock is also the only sniper rifle that does not receive a damage penalty when fired from the hip. It reloads fast even despite being a single-shot sniper rifle. However, the biggest problem is that it has to be reloaded after every single shot and can’t be reloaded when hiding behind something. Also, it is pretty hard to hit moving targets with this rifle because the projectiles fired by the Kishock take time to reach the target. Also, the very same projectiles suffer from the effects of gravity but this can be improved by charging the slot.
Clip Size: 1.
Reserve: 15.
In Legendary Edition it is available from the Batarian State Arms terminal in the Docks: Holding Area for a base amount of 10,000 credits.
- As with most weapons with a charged shot feature, squadmates do not utilize it, though they are fairly accurate with the uncharged shots.
- The Kishock deals 67% of its stated damage on impact. The remaining 33% are dealt over the next 5 seconds, representing the bleed damage. However, damage bonuses from skills and mods only increase the impact damage.
- The bleed damage will not be increased by scoring a headshot.
- Despite being a single-shot sniper rifle, the weapon has a relatively fast reload speed, about half the time needed to reload weapons like the M-98 Widow or Javelin.
- The Kishock completely ignores both enemy armor damage reduction, as well as the defense bleedthrough penalties from the shield gate mechanic, meaning it can potentially one-shot shielded or barrier-protected enemies even on the highest difficulties. Charged shots can even one-hit kill Phantoms as Phantoms only possess damage resistance against normal bullet-firing weapons.
- The Kishock's projectiles cannot penetrate cover, even if equipped with ammunition or mods that would normally allow it. However, they can naturally penetrate armor plating, including Guardian and CAT6 Heavy shields.
- The combination of the two above properties renders the Sniper Rifle Piercing Mod an extremely poor choice, as it offers no advantages beyond the weapon's normal properties.
- The rifle has a unique scope of very low magnification. This makes long ranged shots more difficult, but short-ranged shots easier than other single shot snipers. The scoped appearance changes upon equipping scope mods, but not the magnification level.
- The Kishock is one of the few sniper rifles that do not receive a damage penalty when fired from the hip.
- The damage of a fully charged shot (to any area except the head) rivals even the Javelin on impact.
- Due to the Kishock's low thermal clip capacity, you may want to consider using the Sniper Rifle Spare Thermal Clip mod.
- The Kishock has a very high chance of triggering the effects of most ammo powers including Cryo Ammo from a single shot.
