Klem Is God (MIDI)
172Misaligned Textures is an ongoing MIDI project that endeavors to create music for Doom. The title derives from the haphazard quality and tone of my musical output. Many of these MIDIs were created with a very specific method: I used a random number generator to pick a lead, bass, keyboard, drum set, and one additional random instrument, giving myself limited time to compose in the hopes that haste and spontaneity would bear fruit. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't.
This is based on a riff I wrote on an acoustic guitar, which itself was strongly inspired by Rob Halford's "Silent Screams" (used in Nova: The Birth MAP 30). When I ran into a roadblock continuing the track, I asked myself "what would Mark Klem do?"
