So I have to admit something a tad embarrassing. The whole time I had been trying to figure out why I couldn't get a midscreen kill with K' is because when it comes to Minute Spike, I've been doing the weak version (214+B).

With a number of special moves in this game, button strength doesn't determine power, but rather how fast they come out. However, in the case of Minute Spike, 214+D definitely does significantly more damage than its weaker counterpart.

I've been getting away with doing the weaker version because for corner combos, you'll of course be doing greater damage compared to starting things out from further away.

I don't mind revealing this as I hope it's something that entry level K' TOD enthusiasts can keep in mind. If you ever find yourself coming up short from netting a kill, make sure that whatever non-EX Minute Spike you're using is ALWAYS the D version.
