As the trio head into the Monastery storage room, gunfire rings out across the room. Suddenly, the huge chandelier above them comes crashing down. As the group quickly evade it, they give chase to the mysterious gunman. Heading up to the second floor, they confront him. He attacks!. Cue boss fight against Elias the Thief (AKA, the mysterious sniper who shot at them in the Chapel corridor earlier)

This can be a problematic fight for two reasons. First, you have to destroy the obstacles that Elias uses to hide behind before you can attack him. Secondly, his gun attack can be deadly, especially for Koudelka and James, as he shoots multiple times (inflicting around about 300-350 points of damage). Have Edward as your tank in this fight and equip him with a level 3 melee weapon (if you have any) to deal to the obstacles and Elias, while James and Koudelka will take a support role, casting healing and fortify spells on everyone, when needed.

As Elias lays wounded, a cutscene occurs (The Thief made me laugh!. Really James?! and Damn Edward..Damn!) and afterwards they obtain the Red Key. Now they can return to the Caretakers Quarters (where they first meet the old married couple who tried to kill them) and explore it further.

Later, arriving at the quarters, Koudelka examines one of the paintings of a ship and has a strange vision...
