This video is about the democracy and equlaity.
On 15th august 1947 our India became independent. There was an urgent need to frame our own cconstitution. The preamble and introduction of our indian constitution starts. The constitution of India came into effect on 26th January 1950. It guarantees equality to all citizens without any discrimination of religion, Gender, colour, caste, race or place of birth etc.
A constitution is a set of regulation that a set of people have made an agreed upon. It is written document. It lays down powers and functions of govt. On 25th november 1949 Dr. BR Ambedkar spoke in the constitution assembly... In India there are castes. The caste are antinational. In the first pplace because they bring about separation in social life. They are antinational. ALso because they gnerate jealousy and Antipathy between caste but we must overcome all the difficulties.
Our constitution also guarantees universal adult franchise. One man one vote. THe people of India Caste their votes and elect their representatives for a fixed period. If the elected representatives do not do so people do not vote for them in the next election. Each political party is an organised group having their own policies and progrmas. Party canditates are selected and supported with manpower and finances with political parties. Independent candidates have to campaign on their won. In Indian democracy when a single majority party cannot form govt. some political parties join hand to form a Govt. It is known as coalition gove. In Indian multi party system the party or a combination of party gets the majority, forms the govt. A party or combination of parties that fails to get the majority of seats in the election performs the role of opposition. It keeps a check on the activities of the ruling party and protect the rights of people. Our constitution also gives the us the right of qualtiy. The main provisions of right are :- All citizens are equal before the law, Discrimation on the basis of religion, caste and gender etc is prohibited, everyone is entitled to equal opportunities in all walks of life, the law gives equal protection to all.
