Nightmare Avatar mostly just uses a bunch of generic DRK and MYS physical attacks, most of which don't deal too much damage, it's only Abyss Assault and Mana Assault that are actually dangerous as they are strong enough to just straight up oneshot almost anyone in your team.

Strategy is just to have Cirno max out her defense buffs and tank on the far left while Reimu and Meiling spam their SPI attacks at it, with Renko and Mari providing support. There's some potential for things to go wrong if the boss decides to be mean and target slot 3 or 4 with the Assault attacks, but with 2 attackers there is enough leeway to recover usually.
