If you haven’t moved on from Lake Kingdom yet, you can follow along with our walkthrough at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXdMVdefZoY. It includes the details for the Goomba Goombette Power Moon, but you might need to hunt it down as it also includes a good number of other Power Moons in Lake Kingdom. It also takes you through the rest of the main objectives that you can find in to take down the Broodals and restore order to the kingdom.
You’ll find the Goombas up on the ledge in the bottom left hand corner of the surface of Lake Lamode. To begin with, you’ll need to head through to the spiky tunnel to get to it, but once you’ve taken out the Broodals, you’ll be able to walk up the stairs beside the Odyssey to get up to it. The Goombas can be seen walking around the Lakitu fishing pond and they come in a number of stack volumes. However, you won’t unlock Goombette until you’ve broken the Moon Rock, so you’ll need to complete the game to get this moon.
To get her to give up her Power Moon, you’ll need to come face to face with her in Goomba form, so this means using Cappy to capture one. However, you’ve then got to get it down to the area beside the Odyssey, where the Goombette can be found after smashing the Moon Rock.
The problems come when you try to get one a Goomba down to her, as they all disappear as soon as they step foot into the water next to the stairs back down to the Odyssey. The good news, though, is that you can dash with Y when you get to the bottom of the stairs, which gives you enough speed to get over the water.
Once you’ve made it across, you can head on back behind the Odyssey to stand in front of the Gombette, and she’ll give up her prize, which is Power Moon #39 Love in Lake Kingdom.
