6,377So I saw some amazing fanart for this and after already being somewhat introduced to it by my girlfriend, I decided to sit down and watch the entire first season of this anime and binged it in one night. I adored it so much that I searched for the manga to read, and was so sad that there were only 5 volumes out officially in English! AAH (aka, only one volume ahead of where the manga ended, so not much farther) so haha I found an unofficial fan translation in english online and read all the way up to it being current! which AAH! SO SAD! it's on going so I'm still stuck! it's just so good!
However I want to make a note that I want to support the artist, so I will be buying the mangas when the english volumes come out! regardless of me knowing what happens or not. XD
I highly reccommend it! it's so good! It's a very simple story, but the writing is so good that you just want to keep watching/reading! And it's actually really deep in the characters emotions if you're the type of person to read inbetween the lines in subtext and stuff.
This anime is super awesome, and doesn't follow a lot of typical tropes. but it's literally a story of a person that wants to be a fighter, but is physically unable, and thus needs to find the physical strength to do so. Simple and done before right? well NOT in this way! usually in stories like this you see the character overcome trials and grow into this mature developed person. But not in this. Instead you see Phos acheive her goal, but it is NOT by any means worth the sacrifices needed to get there, and instead of seeing this character grow up to be mentally stronger with their physicality, instead you see her just deteriorate and lose herself (heh and literally too) and the raw hallowed out character you grew to love is just so heartbreaking to see, and then the plot thickens soon after.
