LESSON: Psychological Observations - Part 1
We all want to be able to read minds. Some people can do it and others struggle but there are simple little tricks that we can see in the world around us.
These ideas will not turn you into a mind reader but they will make you more aware of what is happening in your world. And for sure life is complicated to navigate and we need to take advantage of every advantage that we can get.
Check out these tips:
1. The Laugh
When something funny happens people will subconsciously look at the person they like or care about in the group. At this point, within reason, it is relatively easy to see who really likes who.
2. The Waiting Game
When you meet someone new and you would like them to like you. Do not say anything about yourself. Listen to what they say and ask them for more information about their topic of conversation.
3. The Passive Focus
If you do not want people to get offensive then do not use "YOU" or "I" in discussions. Try to use passive constructions and talk about what happened and not who did it.
4. The Franklin Effect
To get someone to like you more you can ask them to do something for you or to help you. They will reason that they did the act because they like you. This increases the possibility of future help.
5. The Eye Contact
Maintain eye contact with a person who is trying to bargain with you and they will begin to negotiate with themselves. One this happens you can sit back and pick and choose your position without stress.
Have you noticed these things?
It is the little things that we do that make big differences. Focus of your focus everyday and get the little things right. One day they will become the big things.
