There is no easy way to achieve success in the long term. It requires a lot of dedication and consistency and maybe sometimes a touch of luck as well.
As we live we learn. We grow to understand the difficult choices we make between what is interesting and what is important to us.
But there are some simple ways to stay focused:
01. Evaluate
- Learn to assess where you are today and compare it to where you were yesterday. Some change, even if it is only very small, should be visible. And slow progress is much better than no progress. Try to break down those bigger goals into smaller tasks. Visualise how you want everything to look.
02. Make The Goals: SMARTER
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Relevant
T - Time Bound
E - Evaluate your situation
R - Revise your situation
03. Write
- Write down everything and keep a record of your thoughts as they grow and you transform. We never have the same experiences or thoughts 2 days in a row. Make your targets public and project your ideas into a future reality. All of this will strengthen your intentions. Sketch out your ideas because sometimes you need to see it before you can believe it.
Finally you will need to hold yourself accountable. Do not be afraid to ask for help and for advice from those with more experience and more success. Learn from The Learn-ed. Get constructive feedback from those around you.
Good habits will move you forward and bad habits will slide you backwards.
Pay attention to the details.
Think about it.
