About the Zoom Tool

The Zoom Tool is a simple, but essential, function that allows you to zoom in and out of your image. This function is important whenever you need to focus on small details within your image. 

Using the Zoom Tool
---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. To access the tool, click on the magnifying glass icon in the 
Tool Bar (leftmost side of your screen). You can also access this tool on the keyboard by pressing Z. 
2. Click on your image to zoom into it. It will usually zoom in integers of three, so it will go from 16% - 25% - 33% - 50%. 

3. To zoom out, press and hold the Option key (Mac) or Alt key (PC) and then click your mouse. 

4. You can also zoom in and out from your keyboard by pressing the Command key (Mac) or the Control key (PC) in conjunction to the + or - keys. 

5. In addition, click and drag on a selection so you can zoom in and out of a specific area of your image. In addition, you can click and hold for a smooth zoom. 

6. Lastly, by clicking the Scrubby zoom in the top Options Panel, you can click and drag to zoom. 

7. It is within this panel that you will find a few more options, such as: zooming all windows simultaneously, Scrubby zoom and Direct zoom. 

Actual Pixels will zoom your image based on the way it was originally taken, or how the image was set up it if was taken from scratch. 

Fit Screen will zoom based on the size of your Photoshop window, while Fill Screen will fill the image to the size of your monitor.

Print Size will zoom in according to the maximum print size available before it looks pixilated.
