Using Themes in Windows 7

Themes are a great way to personalize your desktop, windows and sounds in
Windows 7. 1. To access Themes, right-click on the desktop and select Personalize within the menu. 
2. This will bring you to a new window displaying all of your theme options. Click on any theme you would like to apply to Windows and it will automatically be changed. 

3. Click on Background if you would like to customize the theme. This will display the various backgrounds that will rotate on the screen. If you would like to remove one of these backgrounds from the rotation, un-check that specific background's box and it will no longer show up with the others. 
4. You can also determine the amount of time each image will be displayed by clicking on the tab for Change picture every... This will prompt a drop-down menu with many different timeframes to choose from (10 seconds - 1 day). Choose the timeframe you want.
5. If you do not see any themes you like, you can click on Get more themes online (bottom left corner of Themes window), and it will take you to a new window with different themes. Once you find one you would like to apply, click on Download beneath that theme, and it will prompt a download window. 
6. Choose Open with and themepackfile (default) to initialize the download. Once the download is complete, your new theme will automatically live within the Themes window. You may now click on it to apply it to your desktop. Be sure that if you get themes online to get them from Microsoft.com so you will not encounter any compatibility issues.
