This series of videos will involve playing SimCity 4 Delux Edition while we discuss urban planning and urban design concepts. As you watch these, keep in mind that SimCity is a game: not everything in the game is realistic, and not everything in the real world is included in the game.

We start off with playing the game's tutorials. If you've never played SimCity before, this will give you some introduction about how the game works. At the same time, a close analysis of the tutorial will tell us many of the game's assumptions, like what the game expects us to do, even though it's supposedly an open ended sandbox.

If there are any particular urban issues that you are interested in or have questions about, feel free to ask them in the comments. I've made a set of videos that cover a range of topics, but I can always make more if you point out something important.

One technical issue: the mouse cursor doesn't show up in the videos. Most of the time this isn't a problem, but sometimes I forget and point at things with the cursor, which you can't see.
