LED Strip Light effects only on moving objects
This is a very basic LED strip light design that is powered by AC instead of using the standard DC power supplies recommended by manufactures. In my own research in seeking out anyone that might have put together a LED light like this has had no results , successful results anyway. I found very few people who shared online the idea of using AC to power LEDs. Mostly what I found on the subject is that they claim the LED diodes will burn out with the AC phase shift faster then using the DC power supply. The one other research result i found was that there is a flickering effect with LED's using AC that looks the same as the flicker effect for AC fluorescent lighting but far more clear to see with the naked eye. This flicker effect i read is seen as a problem to LED manufacturers. This is why DC power supplies are recommend only to power LED strips but I think there could be a different potential use for this "flickering" effect instead of trying to eliminate it as a problem. I'm not much of a performer but in this video I am trying to show the visual lighting effect the LED's have only on moving objects and you see this with the naked eye very clearly. In the video the effect is far less dramatic mostly due that it looks like its just part of the videos fame rate that you're seeing but it's not all the flickering effect you see in this video you can see with the naked eye and my idea is that this effect could be used for visual performances like theater or stage light shows. To this day I still have yet to find someone out there that has made this same basic LED light apparatus I have nor have I found anyone doing shows that use something like this as a part of visual entertainment to a live audience....
