...E così, tutto era chiaro, senza più nessun mistero. Ingannato da Moebius, ingannato da Mortanius; e Ariel, che gli aveva sin da subito detto cosa fare per ripristinare l'Equilibrio, aveva taciuto nel punto cruciale, forse incapace di dirgli la verità quando sarebbe stato più opportuno.
Ricordò le parole di Vorador e fece la sua scelta. Scelse ciò che riteneva più importante fra l'Equilibrio e la sua stessa vita...
