16It’s been 24 years since the excellent Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver landed on our PCs and PlayStation 1 consoles back in 1999, followed by the Dreamcast version one year later in 2000.
A sequel to Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver saw a rather hefty time jump of 1500 years. Whereas the original game centred around the titular Kain, the sequel saw players star as Raziel, a lieutenant to Kain who is eventually killed but raised by The Elder God to exact revenge, taking on the moniker of ‘soul reaver’. It’s a fantastic series and yet, it’s not one that we’ve yet seen receive the remake or reboot treatment despite many studios turning to older IPs as of late. Well, our wait for an official Legacy of Kain reboot continues but I’d like to turn your attention to a fantastic fan-made remake that’s in the works.
