I tried. I tried to not have penguins in this episode. But Legend of Mana remastered just won't let me escape them. We get through A Siren's Song with them just being in the background, but then in Gilbert: Love is Blind, they're a main feature again! One day, penguins, I'll get another episode that you're not in!
Also, yes, I was wrong about the sirens not being bird people. Sort of. Later paintings and stuff of them (like, Renaissance and stuff) showed them as just women, and that's all I ever saw in school and stuff. But originally, they WERE bird women. EXTREMELY bird women. Like a bird body with a woman's head and maybe some arms. I think the way they're shown in this game is pretty harpy-like (which was also a mythological thing that changed forms over time to a lesser extent), but I get that it's also pretty siren-y depending on the what stories and art you're looking at :P If you know more or if I'm still getting it wrong, definitely tell me in the comments!
