Lethal League - A Demonstration
This game is available on Steam for $13.99. I find it's worth every penny, but that's just my two cents. That's 23 cents short of a stick of bubblegum. Uneducated baseball joke.
Lethal League is a projectile fighting game, where the objective is to hit a baseball into your opponents as opposed to hitting them outright with your baseball bat or other hitting weapon, say for instance a skateboard, cane, or crocodile tail. The more you hit the ball, the more speed it builds. The faster the ball is, the harder it is to keep track of. If you don't manage to hit the ball before it comes flying into your hitbox, you lose a stock. Losing all of your stocks will knock you out entirely, so if you're playing with others, you have the chance to start sitting in the dugout early.
You have three methods of attacking the ball: standard, bunt, and special. Your standard attack is, as the name implies, standard; it just allows the ball to be hit with the same velocity as it originally maintained. While in the air, a forward motion mixed with the standard attack will cause a strike, doubling the ball's current speed. Bunting will lower the velocity by three pegs, and will, essentially, make the ball hop. During this hop, the ball cannot harm anyone, but it also turns into an attack if it lands on the ground before anyone touches it. In addition, it causes any standard attack to be launched without any delay if used immediately afterwards, unlike what happens at high velocities. The special attack can be activated for most with a double-tap of the standard attack, and is unique to all characters. Experiment a bit to see which you favour.
All footage you see is taken straight from the game. No filters were added; all I did was cut and piece together the clips. Yes, the game does supply those wacky filters for you during certain points.
