I'm back and covering a few advanced techniques for recording and editing Let's Plays with facecam via OBS Studio plus DaVinci Resolve 17.4.6. Everything seen in this video is done using free software (in fact, so is the thumbnail).
I go over how to do Side-by-Side recording, Dual recording, and multi-audio track recording in OBS Studio, then editing everything together in DaVinci Resolve with some extra manipulation of audio feeds, video feeds, and some fancy text manipulation to make videos look better.

For the record, I'm VERY far from an expert on this. Take with ALL THE SALT!... but I think this is a fairly accurate guide and walkthrough of some tips and tricks to record/edit gameplay and facecam footage in OBS Studio and DaVinci Resolve.

One thing that I accidentally left off the final take - newer versions of DaVinci Resolve can actually import MKV container videos directly! This means you no longer need to remux the recordings from OBS in order to edit them in Resolve. MKVs are a more "stable" recording format for OBS; that is, if OBS crashes you can recover the footage recorded, whereas MP4s are corrupted if OBS crashes. So, as long as you use a new enough version of Resolve, just keep using MKVs!
