Let's Fix Computers Ep.7 - MacBook Glass Panel
It's another Apple one- I do fix other brands, I just seem to forget to put the camera on for them :P
Anyway, glass panel in front of a MacBook Pro LCD. Procedure is to remove the display assembly, change out the glass panel, and refit.
Editing note- I think the lack of commentary works better, since I can stay in fast-forward for more time, and voice-over any bits I need to point out.
I forgot to mention LCD replacement during this so here's some info:
Once the glass panel is off, remove the black plastic cover at the bottom of the assembly which covers the wireless antennas- it slides to the right, and then lifts off.
This allows you to feed some of the display cable back into the assembly, giving you enough slack to pull the LCD up and out of the top lid.
Be careful with the LCD, since it's frame-less and can bend/crack easily.
