0Things were different when I was a kid, kinda', but at this point a game feels PRETTY short if it can be wiped out in 8 hours, especially on its first play-through.
THAT said, this was a non-stop ROCKET-RIDE (quite literally), and I loved every minute. What's more, it's obvious that it's meant to be played over, shooting either for higher difficulties or better times/scores.
