Yet another demonstration of how important Speed is - and the problems associated with lower-level playthroughs where you refine stats other than Speed. In the original 7th Saga, played without stat refining, you'd want to be quite a bit higher than level 30 before attempting Gariso's Castle - and a higher level means more Speed.

The enemy of biggest concern in this castle are the Chimere - which (at least in the original 7th Saga) have a whopping 160 Speed! That's far higher than any other monster up to this point - and getting your weapons or spells to hit can be a flustering challenge. Feel free to use your upper-level spells against them - they're expensive, but at least you stand a chance of a one-shot kill if you use the Light Rune. (And you can always replenish MP in battle with the Sky Rune!)
