Act of War: Direct Action is a real-time strategy game developed by Eugen Systems and published by Atari. The game features a detailed story written by Dale Brown, a retired captain of the U.S. Air Force and a bestselling author.

Act of War: Direct Action takes place in the near future. The world is struggling with an oil crisis and a series of terrorist attacks.

When it turns out that there is more behind these events, Task Force Talon, an elite fast response units, is activated to deal with the threat.

The game features traditional real-time strategy base-building as well as soem unique elements, such as the ability to take POWs.

Act of War: Direct Action has three playable factions: The versatile Task Force Talons, the specialised U.S. Army, and the stealthy Consortium.
